In a year marked by the pandemic, Radio 24 reaches 2,357,000 listeners on average day in 2° half 2020 and sets a new record in average quarter-hour ratings, growing by +6.8 vs 2° half 2019 and by +8.4% vs the 2019 year. Radio 24's listener loyalty grows, despite the general drop of the Italian radio audience on average quarter-hour, down by -3.9%.

The increase in the listener loyalty index rewards the value of Radio 24's format based on the trusted information and quality content of its news broadcasts and programmes. A format supported by the editorial staff’s ability to develop authoritative insights, specials and new products presented on different platforms.

"The figures confirm Radio 24 as the trusted source for listeners during the Covid emergency and its role as a public service in helping to understand the repercussions on the daily, economic and political life of our Country, through timely storytelling and in-depth analysis delivered every day by journalists and presenters through radio newscasts and successful programmes, leveraging on quality content and reliable information, a hallmark shared by all of the Group's editorial staffs”, says Fabio Tamburini, director of the Radio and of the 24 ORE Group.

"The strong growth in average quarter-hour ratings rewards the remarkable work of the Radio 24 editorial staff, thanks not only to the tireless efforts made during the Covid emergency, but also through the increased production of specials, ad hoc content and podcasts on issues of interest to the public, ranging from health to education, from the crisis affecting the various sectors of the economy to social hardship - points out Sebastiano Barisoni, deputy executive director of Radio 24 - A figure that is even more significant considering the gap between Radio 24 and other news broadcasters.

"We take great pride in Radio 24’s all-time record achieved in average quarter-hour ratings in the second half of 2020, up sharply both versus the 2° half and the 2019 year; it means that our audience loves our editorial product, appreciates it and follows it across all platforms, from the app to the website, from voice speakers to podcasts, rewarding the multi-device consumption we have particularly focused on this year to help listeners follow their favorite content whenever they like and on any device" - says Federico Silvestri, general manager of 24ORE System and Area Division Director of Radio 24 - "This result represents a recognition also for those advertisers who have followed us for years and believe in our approach to radio. The quality of the Radio 24 format, which has allowed us to achieve success on the ratings front, is also recognized by the market, which chooses Radio 24 for the production of ad hoc content and special projects, which grew double digit in 2020."
