Sport, as a whole, has become one of the core industries of the global economy. To provide greater insightful knowledge of the business, financial and regulatory dynamics of Sport, starting Saturday 22 October, Il Sole 24 Ore has added the "Sport&Business” section to its pages, a new section appearing on Saturdays and Sundays dedicated to the sport industry and to the main sporting events.

The intent is to provide all the industry players with the tools to decode the new business opportunities gravitating around the sport world and its lead actors. A need stemming from the deep changes involving sport disciplines. To give an example, sport and entertainment, once two barely neighbouring worlds, are gradually coming together and overlapping, creating fruitful interaction, as in the case of a number of former TLC monopolists, who are now battling in the football TV rights arena, or of players like Twitter, who landed in the sports business in spring 2016.

The "Sport&Business” pages cater to sport enthusiasts, and to those who do business and invest in this world. The section explores the hottest topics involving the various sport disciplines, and the effects in terms of investment and return, offering an all-round view on whatever revolves around sporting events: TV rights, infrastructure, tourism, gaming, sports marketing agencies, events, clothing.
