After the new features launched last year-end in Sole 24 Ore's browser, which offer a one-of-a-kind structural multimedia model to the clients of 24 ORE System, the 24 ORE Group's ad agency, allowing integrated visibility of print, browser and website for premium positioning, 2023 opens with another major new feature dedicated to readers, the new Sole 24 Ore app, which can be downloaded or updated for free from the Apple and Google app stores.

The result of relentless work on innovation, both in terms of technology and narrative formats, and an ongoing process streamlining the access to Sole’s wealth of information, in the spirit of a digital first approach, the new app hinges firmly on custom content and the adoption of new formats designed specifically for in-app use, to offer information increasingly built on the habits and needs of users.

The main new features include: the Daily’s new showcase, which provides access as early as 00:30 to the digital copy of Il Sole 24 Ore and its newsstand inserts. Additionally, the new version offers faster access to podcasts, news from the website and premium products, the archive of the Daily’s inserts, and the main books forming part of the catalogue: all the wealth of Sole 24 Ore's information is made available the first time the app is opened, with the possibility of immediately activating notifications and not missing the day's headlines.

Another key feature is the new "Discover" area: conceived with a distinctive design and accessible free of charge, it offers a selection of news items profiled on user interests, alongside new videos in a vertical format for dedicated use from the app.

Through Discover, users will be able to find the content most akin to their reading habits, thanks to an internally-designed content recommendation algorithm: from regulations to finance, the economy and the whole scope of industry content, every user will have access to a personal feed that becomes more and more pinpointed through use thanks to self-learning logic. Generous space is given to video content as well: from forums to live streams and videoseries, as well as vertical bites for instant and visual information, Discover is the trusted source for quick moments of insight throughout the day. From Discover, users can also access Brief, which takes stock every evening about the day’s events with an editorially-compiled focus.

In the app, service remains an important space thanks to the functions, including automated reading of the Daily’s articles, the possibility of changing font size and setting a favourite home page, and the return of article printing functions, especially requested by audiences who make professional use of the app.

The Sole 24 Ore App, optimized for both iOS and Android devices (smartphone and tablet versions) is available for free in the new version on AppStore for Apple devices and Google Play Store for Android devices.

The release of the App is a further piece forming part of the activities driving the innovation of Il Sole 24 Ore on the digital front: specifically, regarding the applications of AI to the world of content, A.I. Anchor, the automated journalism system of Il Sole 24 ore, is in the process of a further testing phase with the creation of textual content for populating the tabs inside the pages of Mercati and of Argomenti, the section that collects all the tabs on businesses, people and topics covered in the articles of the website ilsole24ore.com.

Concurrent to the release of the new app, users can subscribe to the Daily and get 25% off the annual fee, with the added bonus of a free Agenda del Risparmio 2023, a weekly planner, but also a way to manage income and expenses, with insightful information and tips for tracking personal finance and learning how to save.
