L’avventura, storia di Mogol is Radio 24's new original podcast series kicking off on radio24.it and on the main platforms: a long talk with undisputed master of Italian song, Giulio Rapetti Mogol, interviewed by Marta Cagnola and Roberto Razzini at the main offices of CET, the school he founded in Toscolano.
For the first time ever in a podcast, the voice of Mogol will give us an account of a journey that spans over more than sixty years of the history of our Country: the hits of Italian music that we have all sang and that have marked an era, the work and skills it takes to make them, the meetings, the characters, the spirit and soul of a society and its changes.
The adventure of reaching the heart of Umbria to meet Mogol marks just the beginning of this original Radio 24 podcast. Because the true adventure is the life of the master who turned the emotions of many into songs. Toscolano represents Mogol’s school and life. Marta Cagnola and Roberto Razzini spent a few days with him to talk about himself and his work, and through his voice, restore the true sense of his story: his beginnings, from childhood, first love affairs, great friendships, from where he drew inspiration for so many of his hits. Then the story of the most important friendship and artistic collaboration in Italian pop music: the partnership with Lucio Battisti featuring legendary hits and memorable feats. To continue with the account of lesser-known chapters such as the adventure of creating a label with an almost impossible mission to churn out only chart-topping records.
And the fruitful collaborations that have dotted Giulio's production from the 80s up to the present day, from his association with Gianni Morandi to his lyrics for Mango, and from his collaboration with David Bowie to the partnerships with Riccardo Cocciante and Adriano Celentano.
But there’s more. The common thread of Mogol's life is his passion for teamwork: from the visionary Cet project, the training school for authors and performers, to the Nazionale Cantanti that has thrilled millions of fans over the years. To conclude, in the last episode, yet another challenge taken up by Giulio: to become the spokesperson for all the Italian authors as President of Siae.
