CONFINDUSTRIA AND IL SOLE 24 ORE PRESENT
"ItalyX - Certified Italian Excellence”,
THE CERTIFICATION OF EXCELLENCE FOR ITALIAN COMPANIES
The recognition runs for two years and targets Italian manufacturing companies
The new certification initiative for Italian companies, developed by Il Sole 24 Ore in collaboration with Confindustria, was presented in Rome. A distinctive project in Italy designed to acknowledge, enhance and showcase companies that epitomize and embody the core values of Italian identity: a commitment to quality, style, meticulous attention to detail, and creativity. The two-year certification recognizes companies capable of conceiving, designing, innovating, and producing in alignment with the hallmarks of Italian tradition, transcending mere product manufacturing.
Acquisition of the mark by each company is contingent upon successfully passing an audit conducted by prominent independent certification bodies, in accordance with a disciplinary framework established by Il Sole 24 Ore. The Certification targets two specific categories of manufacturing companies: SMEs with annual turnover of up to € 50 million; Large Enterprises with annual turnover above € 50 million. Upon expiration, the certification is set to undergo renewal through a new audit.
During the project presentation by Mirja Cartia d'Asero, CEO of the 24 ORE Group, and Maurizio Marchesini, Vice President for Supply Chains and Medium Enterprises of Confindustria, the "ItalyX - Certified Italian Excellence" mark, developed in collaboration with the communication agency Pomilio Blumm and registered by Il Sole 24 Ore, was officially unveiled. The logo embodies the DNA that defines Italian manufacturing companies, as conveyed through the three words in its payoff: Italy and Excellence, an inseparable duo synonymous with quality, style, meticulous attention to detail, creativity, and Certification. This underscores the rigour underlying the disciplinary framework and the process through which the mark is licensed to applicant companies. By uniting the keyword "Italy" with the symbol "X", the logo is crafted to evoke both Italy's rich tradition and its innovative prowess.
The initiative presentation was followed by a discussion on the value of Italian identity in the competitive positioning of companies, featuring a number of top managers from companies of varying sizes and industries, all exemplifying the values of Italian identity: Fedele Usai, Managing Director Dolce & Gabbana, Cosimo Rummo, Chairman and CEO Pastificio Rummo SpA, Fabio Rossello, CEO Paglieri SpA, Filippo Lintas, General Manager Sapio Life Italia, Tiziana Di Gennaro, Board Member Centro Orafo il Tarì, Massimo Centonze, CEO ITP Industria Termoplastica Pavese, Francesca Nonino, Web Communication Manager Nonino Distillatori.
“Recognizing Italian companies and the excellence they embody translates into bolstering our economy and fostering the growth of our Country. This commitment has been the cornerstone of Il Sole 24 Ore for 158 years now, and the certification we presented today aligns perfectly with our enduring mission. With ItalyX, Il Sole 24 Ore and Confindustria aim to bolster one of our Country’s greatest treasures - the manufacturing industry - through a tangible initiative, enhancing its reputation both domestically and internationally”, said Mirja Cartia d'Asero, CEO of the 24 ORE Group.
“Italian identity serves as a competitive advantage for our industry, rooted in the ability to craft exquisite, meticulously crafted products, with a focus on detail and design. Through this initiative, we aim to enhance the visibility of the expertise and craftsmanship of Italian companies, reinforcing their profound connection with the Italian approach to production. Protecting and enhancing these hallmarks is our goal”, said Maurizio Marchesini, Vice President for Supply Chains and Medium Enterprises of Confindustria.
The certification project by Il Sole 24 Ore and Confindustria will be complemented by visibility campaigns, both within Italy and on the global stage, exclusively for certified companies. These campaigns will be jointly spearheaded by Confindustria and Il Sole 24 Ore, with active engagement from local and trade associations, Professionals from the Partner 24 ORE network, and the organization of events involving national and international institutions, as well as the academic community.
